In the week prior to detoxification:

Day 2 (Sunday):

    I have gone to AA meetings over the years and never arrived at much of a connection there because I could never quite interrelate to individuals in the meetings. This other year though I have been blessed to find a group that is the needle in the haystack that I have been looking for as it is attended by others the likes of me. In that same class is the WFS meeting that I attend. Within these two groups, I have found people that I am really PROUD to be a part of because the people are so smart, funny, caring and full of joy; not “a cluster of loser drunks”. So I am not ashamed to be a part of them. I see the equilibrium between the 2 groups to be very positive. WFS has an emphasis on furthering empowerment in women, as well as a sacred portion, and AA has so many meetings to choose from that it is always easy to find at least one to attend to. I am also noticing a sensitive but fine symmetry between “becoming empowered and admitting powerlessness,” whatever sense that makes!!
